I’m Mike Adams, a registered Maine hunting guide with a passion for Maine’s wild places and the old time traditions of upland hunting. In addition to upland bird hunting for more than a decade, I’ve been fly fishing for over 27 years, and an accomplished gallery landscape painter. When I’m not guiding, you’ll usually find me exploring new covers, scouting habitat, or simply spending time in the woods studying wildlife and the changing seasons.

My hunting partner is Copper, a 10-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer entering his 11th season in the field. He’s been hunting wild birds since he was just seven months old and has spent his entire life doing what he was born to do. His drive, experience, and enthusiasm are a joy to watch, and seeing him work birds is one of the greatest parts of every hunt.

Hiring a hunting guide doesn’t guarantee a limit of birds in your vest, but it does give you the best opportunity for a safe, enjoyable, and successful day in the Maine woods.

Whether you’re an experienced bird hunter visiting from out of state, a new hunter looking to build confidence, or someone who wants help navigating Maine’s vast network of logging roads and remote forests, I will provide local knowledge that simply can’t be found on a map.

As a guide, I know where birds are likely to be, how changing weather and habitat affect their movement, and what signs to look for throughout the day. You’ll spend less time wondering where to hunt and more time hunting quality cover.

Registered Maine Guides are held to rigorous standards in hunting regulations, land navigation, wilderness first aid, and outdoor survival. That training, combined with years of time spent in the forest hunting with my German Shorthair Pointer, allows you to focus on enjoying the hunt while knowing your safety is the highest priority.

Whether or not a limit of birds comes home, the goal is to provide an authentic Maine upland hunting experience, filled with beautiful country, knowledgeable guidance, and memories that will last long after the season ends.
